Food...what's with all these food posts?
[Real, genuine food. It seemed gluttonous Ivan had been lucky enough to stumble upon an all-you-can-eat international buffet room! So right now he was stacking up plate upon plate of food as he chowed down at a nearby table.
One thing of curious note is that he was no longer wearing his Major's uniform. Ever since Pegasus ruined his jacket by popping the buttons out, Ivan had been forced to wear something a little more causal in the meantime. His idea of casual was a bit old-timey thanks to his living in Soviet Russia during the 1960s. As Ivan gorged himself he wore a collared, button-down shirt, an old fashioned vest, khaki slacks, dress shoes, and an ascot tie.
Talk about overcompensating for something.]

Pegasus finally left the plate alone, wishing he had a glass of wine instead. He refused to involve himself with the Major any further, especially given that his reason hadn't exactly been...well, at the time, at the forefront of his mind. The unfortunate side effect of possessing power was, of course, that you could at times succumb to it.]

...He also wanted to prove to himself that he could be in control of a situation again. He wanted to pull somebody's strings. Well, besides the two men he so deftly lured into becoming his roommates.
Ivan turned his head again to eye Pegasus now, his gaze determined and piercing.]

Honestly he shouldn't be left to his own devices or alone for that matter, which was why usually at all times he had bodyguards at his side. How unfortunate that this was not one of those days. While he was perfectly capable of taking care of himself this was one of those cases of where he lamented not having a presence that looked intimidating enough to make others want to steer clear of him.
Indeed, Pegasus simply kept his gaze purposefully down and away.]

So... [He picks up a fork, dumpling hanging off the edge.]
I think we got off on the wrong foot. [That was the understatement of the century.]
no subject
Hn. Whatever gave you that idea?
[He murmured dryly with a sarcastic bite to his voice.]
no subject
Well...I just had a feeling~ [Of course Ivan's playing dumb, and he's well aware that Pegasus would be able to see right through that.]
But really, I don't want to be your enemy. [He lowers his head a bit, looking a bit more serious now even with that smile tugging at his lips.] I want a second chance.
no subject
Don't you think it's a bit late for that?
[Pegasus snapped, ill-humored already by this kind of talk.]
What could you possibly hope to offer me now? If you didn't want to be my enemy perhaps you should have thought of that before you made a mess of things. You have some nerve coming up to me and expecting me to simply forgive you without any kind of compensation being made to me after the insults and the damages you've done.
I do not consider anyone who would do such a thing a friend.
no subject
...Ivan was not so modest as to not eat another few dumplings while Pegasus spoke though.]
I can do compensation. I guess that would be fair~. [He lifts his head a bit, smiling at Pegasus with his eyes peeking through his lashes and fringe.] I really do hate to think that I wounded somebody so beautiful, but you have to understand--I was still new here. It's not exactly an easy adjustment.
[That much was more-or-less true, although Ivan was garnishing things a bit and using that to excuse things that weren't a result of adjustment issues.]

[There's an almost sly if not completely saccharine smile that slips up on his lips as he leaned forward slowly, seemingly interested in the proposal though in reality he was simply humoring him so that he got the man to say or think what his true intentions were.
The compliment was an attempt to pander to his vanity, though such an ordinary one wouldn't work. He wasn't fooled for a second. He lifted his fruit juice glass once more and sipped at it as he looked at him through a half-lidded gaze of his own.]
I'm listening.
no subject
You let me take you out to the beach again, and I show you a good time. [He holds up one hand.] And I promise there will be no "funny business", as you Americans say~
1/2
Hah hah hah!!
[Pegasus burst into a hearty laughter, leaning back and slapping his hand on the table as if it was simply the funniest thing he'd heard all day!]
2/2
Not on your life!~♡ I'm afraid the only kind of person who falls for that kind of ploy anymore has to be a moron.
no subject
Uh...
[When Pegasus finally recovers and gives him that chipper, but incredible dig of an answer, Ivan lets out a small, awkward laugh. So his first idea didn't work, and now he was left feeling a mixture of annoyance and plain old embarrassment. Ivan usually didn't take rejection well, but he was forced to swallow it right now and try again.]
It wasn't a ploy... [He starts to mumble, but quickly decides to change the subject. Pegasus wasn't a moron...he needed to be cleverer.]
Let me... [He starts tentatively, mind reeling for something more subtle, and more immediate. What was it they always did in those awful American movies?]
...Buy you a drink?
no subject
While he wasn't going to even so much as give him even but a tiny ounce of hope Pegasus smirked and leaned in again.]
Getting warmer.~ What else?
no subject
You're not a cheap date. [It was a joke, but even as he says it Ivan wonders if maybe that wasn't the right thing to say. He continues with it regardless, unable to take the words back.] How about dinner and a movie to go with it?
no subject
[Pegasus wasn't going to give in so easily. He can't be pacified or bribed by empty platitudes or silly things like that.]
And the fact you don't seem to understand what kind of compensation I want only tells me that the only way you'd even have a chance at getting back into my favor would be me telling you that I want something more than the petty things you're offering.
[You should know better by now, Major. He's not going to give an inch, either.]
Not only do I want an apology—a real apology mind you—first off, but I want you to promise never to lay a hand on me again without my permission.
1/2
Fine. Pegasus can have it his way.]
I see. [If it meant not being on the unwilling receiving end of that eye again, and if it meant maybe having it on his side, Ivan would do it. That's not even taking into consideration those "shocking" powers of his.]
... [But apologizing was still hard. It required him to swallow quite a bit of his pride, and even if he did, he didn't feel sorry for what he did. Ivan only felt sorry he got in trouble and on Pegasus's bad side for it.]
I'm...sorry. For punching you...and spitting in your face.
[Ivan pauses a moment before continuing, a little bit of a sarcastic tone lacing the second half of his apology. After what Pegasus did to him it seemed ridiculous for Ivan to have to be the one to promise this! Ivan may have kissed him first, but Pegasus went to second base!] And I promise not to touch you.

While he caught that little tone of sarcasm he merely frowned and stared him pointedly until he could hear remorse. As it was he's far too aware that he'd lost his composure due to the fury that had taken over him, as well as the sheer power that the Eye employed having proved itself a poor influence in matters of reason. Had he not possessed it then none of that would have happened. As it was, his temper got the better of him, along with the need to...well. See his pain.
He cleared his throat then, trying to wish away the thoughts of what had happened.]
Very well. I accept your apology. However, that doesn't excuse you from giving me a drink. And step one toe out of line and I'm afraid I will not be as lenient as I was.
[He could really use one, honestly. His nerves were frayed as it was and this place was beginning to get to him.]
I wouldn't count on it.
[Pegasus huffed, pouting a little now.]
no subject
Despite his somewhat-casual demeanor though, Ivan is taking this rather seriously, and he's quite glad to see his painful apology accepted. He never wants to do that again.]
Alright, alright~ [Ivan chuckles, getting up from his seat.] I'll be right back.
[Oh, and he'll still be counting on it, but Ivan decides to not mention that as he leaves to gather drinks for the both of them. When he comes back a few minutes later he's holding two drinks; one is a plain vodka, and the other is something incredibly fruity looking.]
Uhh. I know you like those weird fruit-drinks. [Ivan furrows a brow, holding the glass out for Pegasus.] But I don't know a damn thing about them, so hopefully this works.
no subject
...I didn't see those before.
[He said once Ivan extended the drink to him. Real drinks? Goodness yes please. Even if it wasn't wine he'd take it. He took the glass before long, manicured nails clinking against the glass quietly.]
Good boy.~
no subject
They were over in the corner. [He lifts his own drink to his lips, taking a swig. Greedy as he was, he chided himself about not getting a second drink. Ivan didn't want to lose any of his common sense right now.
He eyed Pegasus thoughtfully.]
no subject
Mm. I see.
[He lifted the drink then and sipped at it. Oh yes, it was better than he thought it might be.]
no subject
[Ivan wonders if now is a good time to ask how Pegasus got that eye...probably not. He finally eats the last of his dumplings as he decides what to say next.]
Did you find those clothes around here?
no subject
His gaze focused on the man across from him for a long scrutinizing moment before he'd make his response.]
No. That seems an awfully strange question to ask. I had this personally tailored to fit me. Why would I find something like this around here...?
