Food...what's with all these food posts?
[Real, genuine food. It seemed gluttonous Ivan had been lucky enough to stumble upon an all-you-can-eat international buffet room! So right now he was stacking up plate upon plate of food as he chowed down at a nearby table.
One thing of curious note is that he was no longer wearing his Major's uniform. Ever since Pegasus ruined his jacket by popping the buttons out, Ivan had been forced to wear something a little more causal in the meantime. His idea of casual was a bit old-timey thanks to his living in Soviet Russia during the 1960s. As Ivan gorged himself he wore a collared, button-down shirt, an old fashioned vest, khaki slacks, dress shoes, and an ascot tie.
Talk about overcompensating for something.]

[Ivan's a bit offended by the wording, but he stops himself before he starts to hound Pegasus--as strong as the urge may be. Of course when Pegasus announces he's planning on leaving...Ivan suddenly starts to worry.
It's been a whole damn week since he last encountered the other man and those powers of his...
He didn't want to miss his chance for a little fun, and now that they were at least on neutral terms...]
Ah...so are you still going to reject that offer to go back to the beach~?
no subject
[Of course he's only trying to gauge whether or not Ivan really had such influences. He wasn't impressed, exactly. Still, it was fun to let him think that.
Pegasus leaned in a little at that, silky strands of platinum slipping down his shoulder.
A week wasn't long enough, in his book. Still, he needed time to mull things over, and going back to the beach wasn't something he wanted to do so quickly. Especially after the first experience.]
Oh~ you don't give up easily do you. Such an insistent one. You shouldn't try to push your luck. But, at a later date perhaps...I'll consider it.
no subject
[His attention draws back up again as Pegasus leans in, his eyes darting briefly downwards to watch that hair slip off his shoulder. Beautiful...
When his eyes trail back up to Pegasus's face, that thought doesn't change.]
Persistence is a good quality to have, da? [He lets out a little chuckle, leaning in closer as he props his chin up in his hand. Ivan narrows his eyes slightly; Pegasus hadn't given him an outright no.] All I want to do is properly pay you back for last time. I mean, after all...you left without finishing.
no subject
[He misses having authority too, honestly. Still, he's not exactly as forgiving as his words might suggest. There was practicality in having his enemies drawn closer to him. In this way, even if he kept Ivan guessing, he'd at least be better off to keep away the hostility. At most it was bothersome to keep expending his energy on it.]
At times it can be useful...
[He trailed off when he heard that last statement, knowing of course that Ivan's cooperation had strings attached. That and the reminder soured his mood. A distinct sulk crept up onto his visage.]
Hn. Whose fault was that. And I should hope that's not the only reason you want to go to the beach, because if it is then I'm going to have to reconsider even entertaining the notion.
no subject
Ah...well. Mine, of course. [Humility, he reminds himself, is something he best be representing right now.]
But no, no... [Ivan coyly lies. It more-or-less had been his only reason for suggesting the idea, but trying to continuing earning brownie points with Pegasus had also been a factor.]
You said you wanted to go somewhere else. I just happened to find that same beach room earlier today; it might still be there...
[There was also something of new interest just presented itself now--work. Ivan enjoyed talking about his work.]
And...maybe we can discuss business~? I'm glad I'm not the only one around here who's suffering because I'm without my men.
no subject
Pegasus wasn't going to put himself into any more questionable situations.]
Hmm. I don't believe you, Major. I know your ways too well now.
[He isn't going to make the same mistakes. Setting boundaries was the only way to go now. He doesn't feel right about being alone with him for long. Especially to somewhere where it would be hard to leave, as last time he hadn't been able to leave the room for over three hours.]
I don't think it's a good idea. And what sort of business?
[Because he has a feeling there's more to this turn of conversation than the other man is letting on.]
no subject
What else? Your job. You said you were the head of a company and understood how aggravating it is to be here without your influence, da? And well, I haven't met anybody else who understands how I feel about that~
no subject
[Pegasus sighed. A big debate. Honestly, that much was true. Especially given there was no way out of here. None that he'd found.
He shifted in his chair and uncrossed his legs, smirking.]
Mmm. I see.~ Well, you'd be surprised once you start finding out more about someone how much they can understand. In my case there are very few who haven't heard of me in my world.
no subject
But, ah... [He takes another gulp of his drink.]
I guess I just don't try to find out about other people all that often~ [Ivan leans in with a little smile.] You're just much more interesting than the rest. Maybe that's why you're "world famous".
no subject
Pegasus coyly looped a lock of hair around his finger as Ivan continued to flatter him. This time instead of reacting lukewarmly, Pegasus found the compliment to be one that hit home for him.]
O~oh? Am I now? Perhaps you're right.~ Not to toot my own horn but I hardly consider myself uninteresting.
no subject
I've seen many men in my life, especially during my time in the military. There's plenty of weird people, but hardly any who are genuinely interesting and good looking to go with it.
[He tilts his head, resting his cheek in the palm of his hand.] And I have to ask...what sort of company do you run?
no subject
It was much better than insults anyways. And who didn't like having their ego pandered to them?]
Is that so? Well, when you're in my line of work, you have to create a certain image for yourself. But, in my case it comes naturally. [ When you're a man who was considered to be extremely eccentric you essentially did what you wanted.]
A rather successful one.~ I started Industrial Illusions when I was younger, you see. And my ideas were destined to be great. My papa was a wonderful businessman too, and I followed in his footsteps, you might say.
If it weren't for the fact that we can't seem to find a way to escape I'd be at my castle with the beach all to myself about now.
no subject
Industrial Illusions? [He blinks, racking his brain.] I've never heard of it, but it's not surprising considering I work in an isolated area of the USSR. What does your company make, hmm~?
[Suddenly, Ivan realizes something and quickly adds:] Wait--did you say castle?!
no subject
[Pegasus murmured. He had noticed that Ivan acted a little peculiar.] Aaaah, well. This is interesting. You're a part of my history, Major. You see, the USSR has been disbanded for quite some time where I'm from. America and Russia are more or less at peace with one another.
Yes indeed. [He smiled.] If it's true what they said about the possibility of numerous worlds, then you wouldn't have. And it produces a game of my own creation, Duel Monsters.
And yes. My own castle. I'm a man who prefers the finer things.~
no subject
...What? [That's all Ivan can say. What Pegasus had told him makes absolutely no sense, and he wonders if maybe the other man has already had too much to drink.]
no subject
[That's right, Ivan. He's from a far off future. Why do you think he's so prosperous in his time?]
Isn't it obvious? Do you remember the date before you left?
no subject
...March, uh...1964.
no subject
[He punctuated that with an amused look towards the man.]
no subject
And I should believe you're not lying because...?
[It had nothing to do with Pegasus himself; the concept was just too ridiculous to believe so readily.]
no subject
[True, in Pegasus' world things were still different...but how do you explain such a thing when it just seemed so natural?]
In my world entertainment is prevalent. Duel Monsters became widespread shortly after I debuted it in America, and before I knew what had happened it took off like wild fire. You'd be surprised Major...
Do you think it's coincidence we were all drawn here from different places?
[Pegasus certainly didn't. He believed in a great many things because of what he's witnessed and seen. Curses, magic, monsters...They were all real.]
no subject
[Ivan's not going to be convinced; not until he's seen much more to back up such an outlandish idea. He really doesn't want to talk about it anymore either, as it's making him irritated. What did Pegasus know of his and Volgin's future empire?]
I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but I don't really care either. All that matters is getting out of here, not lamenting over why we were brought here in the first place.
no subject
[He won't push the matter. Ivan was free to believe as he wished. But, it was worth looking into.]
I simply speak of it because I wanted to know if there was the connection between everyone here. So far, that's the only connection I've found. Have you met anyone here that you recognize? I haven't...Which means we could be chosen for a reason.
no subject
Parallel universes? ...Heh. [He mumbles to himself, neither buying it nor caring to read up on it. It wasn't really in Ivan's field of interest.]
But no, I haven't either. I still wouldn't bet any money that it means something, though. Unless...maybe they're abducting people who can get a high ransom. But even then, there's plenty of people around here that I doubt fit that category.
no subject
[He sighed, giving up on the theory for now. Pegasus only had an inkling of an idea as to the true reason, sadly. This was why this situation irked him so much. He hated not being the one in control.]
I guess it doesn't matter. I just...thought it held a little water. Hmm. That is rather true.
no subject
Maybe it's an experiment. [He grabs a slice and starts to chow down. It seems Ivan's stomach never filled up.]
I don't really care either way, I just want to go home.
