He's been tossing the tennis ball through the air, and when the dog's nearly caught up, the ball disappears into a small portal of Darkness to reappear elsewhere nearby. He'd done it as a joke earlier, but his new pet seemed to like it so much that he's kept it up.]

[The dog barks as the ball reappears just past him and he skids on the floor, trying to bound after it. Kai cracks up and sinks down onto the bleachers, grinning as Surge finally trots over with his prize, tail wagging madly.]
